Elsevier, the information analytics business specializing in science and health, has announced that the Italian National Agency for University and Research Systems Evaluations (ANVUR) has selected Scopus, the world's largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed scientific literature, as its bibliometric data provider for the review and assessment process of a specific national research funding initiative, known as the Fund for Financing Basic Research Activities ("Fondo Finanziamento Attivita Base di Ricerca").

The agency oversees different evaluation procedures, always based on the pillars of independency, impartiality, professionality, transparency.
