JMIR Publications, a leading open-access publisher, has announced a new partnership with the Web of Science Reviewer Recognition Service (RRS) to officially acknowledge the invaluable efforts of its peer reviewers. This integration aims to highlight the crucial role reviewers play in maintaining the quality and integrity of scholarly research.
Peer reviewers are essential to the academic publishing process, ensuring that research meets the highest standards of rigor and reliability. With this collaboration, JMIR Publications can now provide formal recognition for the work of its reviewers, enabling them to track, verify, and showcase their contributions.
The partnership with Web of Science RRS offers several advantages to JMIR Publications' reviewers:
• Formal Credit for Reviews: Reviewers receive recognition for their work, even for anonymous reviews or those tied to unpublished manuscripts.
• Seamless Profile Integration: Reviewers can add both past and current reviews to their Web of Science researcher profiles.
• Maintained Anonymity: Review contributions are verified while respecting the confidentiality policies of the journals.
• Automated Record-Keeping: Reviewers can choose to automatically add future reviews from JMIR Publications to their profiles, simplifying the process of tracking their scholarly impact.
Reviewers submitting assessments for any JMIR Publications journal will be prompted to opt-in for adding a verified record of their review to their Web of Science profile. Those who opt in will receive an email with instructions to link the review to their researcher profile.
This collaboration reflects JMIR Publications' ongoing dedication to enhancing the scholarly publishing ecosystem and ensuring that peer reviewers receive due recognition for their essential contributions.
