Academic publisher Versita has announced that the Journal of Official Statistics, the flagship publication of Statistics Sweden, has moved to De Gruyter open access publishing platform.
The national statistical office of Sweden, Statistics Sweden (SCB), recently announced their decision to have their official quarterly - Journal of Official Statistics - published by Versita. SCB is the Swedish government agency responsible for producing official statistics with regard to the country. National statistics in Sweden date back to 1686 when the parishes of the Church of Sweden were ordered to start keeping records on the population. Currently, the agency supplies statistics for decision making, debate and research, not only to Government and its agencies, but also to consumers hailing from the private sector.
The Journal of Official Statistics was established in 1985, when it replaced the Statistisk Tidskrift (Statistical Review) – available by then in Swedish only. This fully peer-reviewed periodical publishes theoretical and applied articles on survey methodology for statistics production within official statistics, policy decision making, and the economic and social sciences. As an open access journal, users are free to download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of all articles.
All previous volumes from the year 2013 will be available on www.versita.com/jos in September.
