Knovel announces four new content partnerships -

Knovel, a Web-based application integrating technical information with analytical and search tools, has announced new content partnerships with four publishers and societies. These new partners, in addition to the six others announced earlier this year, further position Knovel as the go-to, interactive reference for engineers.

Currently, Knovel partners with more than 70 international professional societies and publishers to ensure engineers have access to trusted sources of technical content across 24 engineering subject areas. The latest partners include American Water Works Association (AWWA) – the authoritative resource on safe water; Editions Technip; PennWell; and SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics.

AWWA offers technical content on water resource development, water and wastewater treatment technology, water storage and distribution, and water utility management and operations. Knovel will initially license 61 titles, including more than 40 current AWWA Manuals of Water Supply Practices and the Operational Guides to AWWA Standards.

Founded in 1956 by the Institut Français du Pétrole (IFP), which is now the IFP Energies nouvelles, Editions Technip is well known worldwide for its research in the field of oil and gas. Through its latest partnership with the company, Knovel seeks to expand its offering in Oil and Gas, particularly in the upstream segment.

PennWell is an established business-to-business media company offering deep, industry-specific content. This partnership will expand Knovel's offering in two subject areas - Oil and Gas Engineering and Electrical and Power Engineering.

SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, was founded in 1955 to advance light-based technologies. SPIE Press books cover a wide range of applications, from electronics to energy, to medicine to defense and security. Knovel will offer 51 books from SPIE. Of these, 31 titles will be available in its new subject area - Optics and Photonics - which will launch later this month.
