Knowledgespeak, an STM news service published by Scope e-Knowledge Center, India, a Quatrro Group Company, has announced a partnership with Hypios, an online problem-solving platform, to form the Scope–Hypios network. Hypios is a global marketplace that connects people who like the challenge of solving problems (Solvers) to companies who need a solution (Seekers). The Scope–Hypios network is intended to be an exciting community activity for Knowledgespeak subscribers, who can also derive monetary benefits by solving problems posted by solution seekers.
STM publishing companies can now submit a problem to Hypios and list the price it would pay for a solution. The problem will then appear in the Scope-Hypios marketplace, where ‘solvers’ can review the problem and decide if they want to propose a solution. After all of the solutions have been submitted, the company selects one or more solutions and Hypios transfers the reward money to the winning solver(s).
While the problems listed currently are generic in nature, this space will, in the near future, feature industry specific problems related to the STM industry or print and publishing industry. All new problems in STM that appear on Hypios will be posted on https://www.knowledgespeak.com/hypios_view.asp. Also, a ‘Knowledgespeak solvers’ network will soon be available on Hypios.
The Scope-Hypios network is part of the massive functionality enhancement drive undertaken at Knowledgespeak. Earlier in June 2009, Knowledgespeak was re-launched with new looks and functionalities. The new functionalities have been integrated within the K-store platform. Designed to be a commercial platform for stakeholders in the print and publishing industry, K-store is an interaction driven utility wherein subscribers can post and view information across three sections – Jobs, B2B Informediary (a virtual directory of storefronts) and Tenders and Contracts. Registered members can advertise job vacancies, host virtual storefronts and post tenders. Twenty five leading STM publishers and services / solutions providers are testing the various sections of the website.
