Healthcare publisher Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW), part of Wolters Kluwer Health, US, has announced plans to offer the latest edition of its USMLE training guide as part of Doctors in Training's popular online review course for medical students preparing for the USMLE Step 1 exam.
Doctors in Training physicians are actively involved in the editing of LWW's forthcoming 5th edition of Step Up to USMLE Step 1. In addition, Doctors in Training has licensed numerous images and content to include in its Step 1 video review course. The revised textbook and Doctors in Training's 2013 Step 1 review course will be available to medical schools and students for the spring 2013 test prep season.
Doctors in Training's USMLE Step 1 review course includes about 75 hours of focused high-yield videos that incorporate active learning principles. Prior to viewing the video portion of the course, Doctors in Training students are also provided with a series of over 500 review questions that are incrementally delivered to the students each week along with concise video answers prepared by Doctors in Training physicians.
Step Up to USMLE Step 1 is a comprehensive review text for the USMLE Step 1 exam. The book has been widely acclaimed for its high-yield, systems-based organisation, which parallels the USMLE Step 1 content outline and helps students synthesise information from their basic science courses. The user-friendly format features charts, diagrams, and 'quick hits' margin notes that help students integrate concepts across systems.
The new edition will include clinical vignettes in each chapter, integrated pharmacology content, a 'Crunch Time Review,' and a chapter with study tips and strategies. A companion Website offers fully searchable online text, a sample question bank, and more.
