Academic publisher Maney Publishing has partnered with the Deep Foundations Institute to publish DFI Journal - The Journal of the Deep Foundations Institute from 2014. The journal publishes papers related to the broad area of deep foundations engineering and construction. Published biannually, the journal is an information resource for the design and construction of foundations and excavations.
Established in 2006, the DFI Journal focuses on topics that are of interest to the geo-professional and academic community. This includes all systems designed and constructed for the support of heavy structures and excavations, including but not limited to different piling systems, drilled shafts, ground improvement geosystems, soil nailing and anchors. Papers on new and emerging topics related to innovative construction technologies, marine foundations, retaining systems, cut-off wall systems, and seismic retrofit are encouraged. Case histories, state of the practice reviews, and papers on innovative applications are also welcomed.
The Deep Foundations Institute is an international association of contractors, engineers, suppliers, academics and owners in the deep foundations industry. Its multi-disciplinary membership creates a consensus voice and a common vision for continual improvement in the planning, design and construction of deep foundations and excavations. It brings together members for networking, education, communication and collaboration.
