Manuscript Manager joins STM Integrity Hub to strengthen research integrity -

STM Solutions, a leader in scholarly publishing solutions, has announced the integration of Manuscript Manager, a renowned peer review system for academic journals, into the STM Integrity Hub. This strategic integration marks a significant advancement in the ongoing efforts to fortify research integrity across the academic publishing landscape.

The STM Integrity Hub serves as a collaborative platform that enables publishers to establish automated feeds of their submitted content, allowing for efficient screening for integrity issues. This includes identifying submissions to multiple journals simultaneously, references to retracted works, and manuscripts generated by paper mills. This latest integration, closely following the successful integration of Editorial Manager and ScholarOne, marks a crucial milestone in creating a robust ecosystem for publishers to collectively combat research fraud and safeguard the scholarly record.

The STM Integrity Hub, founded by STM members and developed by STM Solutions, is a collaborative initiative that empowers publishers of all sizes to share data and experiences in the ongoing battle against research misconduct. The platform provides various tools to identify and respond to materials that violate established standards of quality, ethics, and integrity.

The STM Integrity Hub has been proactive in releasing tools to address research integrity concerns. In April 2023, the Integrity Hub introduced the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) of a paper mill detection tool, designed to flag indicators suggesting a manuscript originated from a paper mill. This was followed by the launch of a pilot program for detecting duplicate submissions in October 2023. The ongoing developments and tools will be further refined and made available to publishers in 2024, strengthening the collective efforts to ensure the highest standards of integrity within scholarly publishing.

As Manuscript Manager joins the STM Integrity Hub, the collaboration signifies a pivotal step forward in creating a united front against research misconduct and upholding the credibility and trustworthiness of academic publications.
