McGraw Hill has announced the acquisition of Teachally, a company specializing in AI‑driven curriculum development tools. The acquisition is intended to strengthen McGraw Hill’s ability to create, adapt, and deliver K–12 curriculum more efficiently in both U.S. and international markets, while expanding access to educator‑focused AI solutions.
Teachally’s platform, co‑founded by Daniel Bernstein and Rushil Makkar, provides educators with tools to create, localize, and translate standards‑aligned instructional materials. These capabilities are designed to simplify lesson planning, support instructional customization, and enable teachers to personalize McGraw Hill’s curriculum to meet classroom needs.
McGraw Hill stated that the acquisition would allow the company to shorten development cycles, improve speed‑to‑market for new and updated products, and adapt materials for different standards, languages, and markets. The integration of Teachally’s AI tools into McGraw Hill’s portfolio is expected to embed time‑saving features into the platforms already used by teachers.
Jana Thompson, Interim President of McGraw Hill’s School group, noted that the acquisition would accelerate the company’s AI strategy in ways that directly support educators and enhance the development of K–12 products globally. She emphasized that integrating Teachally’s AI capabilities would help bring curriculum to market faster while ensuring that AI is applied responsibly to support personalized learning.
Bernstein, Founder and CEO of Teachally, explained that teachers spend significant time adapting materials for their classrooms. He said Teachally’s focus had been on using its AI platform to deliver curriculum‑grounded instruction at scale, and that McGraw Hill’s expertise in trusted curriculum would help extend these tools to more educators.
Through this acquisition, McGraw Hill aims to expand access to AI‑enabled tools that allow teachers to customize lessons, assessments, and enrichment activities, localize and translate materials, and move more quickly from planning to personalized instruction.
