McGraw Hill and Pearson collaborate to integrate assessment capabilities into K-12 curriculum -

Global education leaders McGraw Hill and Pearson have announced an agreement to integrate Pearson’s assessment capabilities into McGraw Hill’s K-12 curriculum solutions. This collaboration aims to enhance McGraw Hill’s personalization ecosystem by embedding Pearson’s PRoPL (Pearson Review of Progress & Learning), an interim assessment solution, directly into McGraw Hill’s core curriculum offerings. This integration is designed to provide educators with deeper insights into student progress, enabling more tailored learning paths while saving valuable classroom time.

The PRoPL assessments will be embedded into McGraw Hill’s widely used curriculum solutions, offering educators a connected experience that delivers a comprehensive view of student progress toward academic goals across entire school systems. The integration supports data-driven teaching and streamlines administrative tasks, thereby allowing teachers to focus more effectively on student growth.

Sean Ryan, President of McGraw Hill’s School Group, highlighted that the collaboration merges McGraw Hill’s modern curriculum with Pearson’s innovative digital assessments, unlocking enhanced value for students, teachers, and administrators. By linking assessment and instruction, the partnership aims to provide reliable insights that inform classroom practices and district-level decision-making.

The initial rollout of the integrated solution is planned for California during the 2025-26 school year, combining PRoPL with McGraw Hill’s California Reveal Math curriculum for grades K-8. Both companies intend to expand the integration to additional subjects, grade levels, and states in the coming years.

Trent Workman, Managing Director of Pearson K-12 School Assessments in the United States, noted that this collaboration supports the future of education by creating an integrated system where academic data naturally informs teaching decisions, helping to provide timely and appropriate support for every student.

Students and teachers will access PRoPL assessments through McGraw Hill’s existing online platform. These assessments are aligned with state-specific standards and designed to be completed within 30 minutes, preserving classroom time without compromising assessment quality. The unified solution aims to reduce administrative workload and provide timely, predictive insights that make personalized learning practical and scalable.
