McGraw Hill introduces AI features in Connect platform for higher education -

McGraw Hill has introduced new AI capabilities within McGraw Hill Connect, its digital course solution for higher education. One of the additions is Learning Coach, a conversational AI tutor developed in collaboration with Kyron Learning. The tool provides real-time support through text and video, including explanations, guided questioning, and step-by-step assistance for complex concepts. Instructors can assign it for selected course topics.

A Translation Tool has been introduced for most Connect electronic book (eBook) titles. The feature allows users to view original and translated text side by side and supports 38 languages at launch. The AI Reader feature enables students to highlight passages and receive simplified explanations and comprehension checks.

The platform also includes AI literacy modules that instructors can assign. These modules address the use of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), including prompt refinement, job search applications, and responsible and ethical use of AI.

Students can complete a SIMskills Badge in Foundational Generative Artificial Intelligence, a self-paced course that results in a digital credential that can be shared on professional platforms such as LinkedIn or included in resumes. Faculty access is provided at no cost, while students can purchase access through Connect.
