Scientific and medical information resources provider McGraw-Hill Professional, US, has signed an exclusive agreement with IHS, the premier source of insight and information to professionals in the field. As part of the agreement, IHS will provide McGraw-Hill Professional's innovative AccessEngineering platform as part of its suite of resources and expertise for professional organisations and companies worldwide. The agreement makes IHS the exclusive reseller for AccessEngineering to the corporate market.
AccessEngineering, McGraw-Hill Professional's innovative reference and learning platform for engineers, draws on the company's more than 100 years of expertise in creating the critical engineering content and services that are necessary to professionals throughout their working lives. The platform provides access to widely adopted titles such as Perry's Chemical Engineers' Handbook, Marks' Standard Handbook for Mechanical Engineers, Roark's Formulas for Stress and Strain, as well as a plethora of newer publications, such as Advanced MEMS Packaging and Energy Systems Engineering. It was recently honoured with the 2012 PROSE Award for Best eProduct in Physical Sciences and Mathematics.
Through the agreement, IHS will offer AccessEngineering as a standalone solution as well as through IHS Goldfire, a product that helps technical professionals achieve dramatic improvements in productivity and knowledge capture and reuse.
AccessEngineering also comprises dynamic online features, such as instructional videos, downloadable data and interactive charts, as well as personalisation tools allowing users to organise crucial project information as they work. These trusted resources allow engineers to apply broadly accepted industry best practices in context as part of their daily workflow while updating and expanding their skills.
