MDPI has announced its collaboration with the Société Internationale d'Urologie (SIU) to publish the Société Internationale d'Urologie Journal (SIUJ) starting January 2024. Established in 2020 in Montreal, Canada, SIUJ has rapidly become a leading platform for urological research, offering open access publications in the field.
SIUJ publishes online six times a year, providing a comprehensive platform for researchers to share advancements and insights across various urological domains. The journal welcomes submissions on a wide range of topics, including oncology, pediatrics, translational research, renal transplantation, and more. Indexed in the DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals), SIUJ is committed to fostering open access to scholarly literature in urology.
One of the hallmarks of SIUJ's commitment to accessibility is its decision to remain free for both authors and readers. The publication costs are generously covered by the SIU, aligning with MDPI's dedication to innovative publishing models that prioritize accessibility and inclusivity.
In an editorial published in the journal, Dr. Peter C. Black, the Editor-in-Chief of SIUJ, outlined the aspirations of SIUJ, including achieving indexing and acquiring an impact factor. Recognizing the need for strategic resources and support, SIUJ's Editorial Board and the SIU Board of Directors decided to enter into a partnership with MDPI to realize these objectives effectively.
MDPI, known for its commitment to open-access publishing and scholarly integrity, is collaborating with SIU in advancing urological research dissemination. Through this partnership, MDPI aims to provide the necessary resources and expertise to elevate SIUJ's profile and impact within the global urology community.
As SIUJ continues its mission to facilitate knowledge exchange and innovation in urology, the partnership with MDPI signifies a significant milestone in its journey toward becoming a premier platform for urological research worldwide.
