The Microbiology Society has signed a transformative Publish and Read agreement with Yonsei University, marking a significant step towards open access (OA) publishing and global knowledge dissemination.
Effective from 2024, the agreement enables Yonsei University researchers to benefit from unlimited OA publishing and full read access to all six peer-reviewed titles of the Microbiology Society. This initiative is aligned with the broader vision of fostering collaboration and making research accessible to a global audience.
Ranked second in the Republic of Korea for Life Sciences in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024, Yonsei University brings its research prowess to the forefront through this collaboration.
Authors affiliated with Publish and Read institutions, like Yonsei University, will enjoy a range of benefits: Unlimited OA Publishing: Any article published in Society journals with a corresponding author from a Publish and Read institution will be OA by default; and Unlimited Usage: Users associated with a Publish and Read institution can access the entire archive of Society content, dating back to 1947, for reading and for text and data mining.
The Publish and Read initiative encompasses all six journals of the Microbiology Society. This includes hybrid titles such as the Journal of General Virology, Journal of Medical Microbiology, and International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology, along with fully OA titles like Microbiology, Access Microbiology, and Microbial Genomics.
