Molecular Omics to transition from Royal Society of Chemistry to Oxford University Press in 2026 -

The Royal Society of Chemistry has announced that the journal Molecular Omics will be transferred to Oxford University Press (OUP) beginning with the 2026 volume. This transition marks a strategic realignment aimed at supporting the journal’s continued development within a broader biological sciences portfolio.

Molecular Omics focuses on publishing high-quality research in the -omics sciences that addresses significant chemical and biological challenges. Since its establishment, the journal has developed a reputation for fostering interdisciplinary research and has cultivated a community of contributors engaged in chemically informed studies across genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and related fields.

The transfer of Molecular Omics to OUP aligns with the Royal Society of Chemistry’s assessment that the journal’s future growth would benefit from a publisher with an extensive biological sciences program. Under the new arrangement, Royal Society of Chemistry Gold customers will retain perpetual access to all Molecular Omics and Molecular BioSystems articles published through the end of 2025.

The Royal Society of Chemistry has completed the agreement with OUP and confirmed that the journal will formally become part of the OUP portfolio beginning in 2026. The transition includes continued editorial leadership and an emphasis on advancing the journal's scientific scope and visibility in the coming years.
