Open access publisher BioMed Central, UK, has announced that three of its journals have been accepted for inclusion in MEDLINE. The journals are: BMC Medical Genomics; BMC Oral Health; and Microbial Cell Factories. Maintained by the US National Library of Medicine, MEDLINE (Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online) is a premier bibliographic database containing more than 16 million references to journal articles in life sciences with a concentration on biomedicine.
BMC Medical Genomics is a peer-reviewed journal that considers articles on all aspects of functional genomics, genome structure, genome-scale population genetics, epigenomics, proteomics, systems analysis, and pharmacogenomics in relation to human health and disease.
BMC Oral Health is an open access journal publishing original peer-reviewed research articles in all aspects of the prevention, diagnosis and management of disorders of the mouth, teeth and gums, as well as related molecular genetics, pathophysiology, and epidemiology.
An open access, peer-reviewed online journal, Microbial Cell Factories covers any topic related to the development, use and investigation of microbial cells as producers of recombinant proteins and natural products, or as catalysers of biological transformations of industrial interest.
The journals were selected for MEDLINE based on the recommendation of the Literature Selection Technical Review Committee (LSTRC), an NIH-chartered advisory committee of external experts. These journals are among over ninety BioMed Central titles now indexed in MEDLINE. In addition, all BioMed Central journals are indexed/included in PubMed, PubMed Central, Scirus, Google Scholar, Citebase, OAIster and Scopus, with growing numbers of journals in Thomson Reuters, Medline, CABI and a number of other relevant bibliographic services.
