Scientific publisher Nature Publishing Group (NPG), UK, and The International Bone and Mineral Society (IBMS) have announced a new publishing partnership. Under the deal, NPG will publish IBMS BoneKEy, an online knowledge resource about metabolic bone disorders such as osteoporosis, on behalf of IBMS from 2012. The IBMS BoneKEy website will be relaunched in January 2012.
IBMS BoneKEy is dedicated to fostering progress in understanding the causes of metabolic bone disorders and their clinical care. Each month, IBMS BoneKEy publishes original articles written by eminent scientists and physicians including perspectives, commentaries and meeting reports. It also offers online forums, a directory, job postings and other services.
Launched in 2001, IBMS BoneKEy is provided as a free service by the IBMS, supported by sponsorship. It serves as a central repository of knowledge in the fields of bone, cartilage, and mineral metabolism and acts as a meeting place for a growing community of more than 12,000 registered members. IBMS BoneKEy is currently hosted by Highwire Press.
