This update reflects the traditional strengths of the British Academy's list in history and classical studies, but there are also important contributions in anthropology, economics and finance, linguistics, music, philosophy, religion, and sociology. Some truly stand out texts are to be added on January 31. These noteworthy titles include Insecurity, Inequality, and Obesity in Affluent Societies, edited by Avner Offer, Rachel Pechey and Stanley Ulijaszek; Free Will and Modern Science, edited by Richard Swinburne; and Archaeology and Language in the Andes, edited by Paul Heggarty and David Beresford-Jones.
