NISO Plus 2025 Conference Presentation Slides on AI and scholarly communications now available -

Slides from the NISO Plus conference, held in Baltimore from February 16–18, 2025, have been made available through the organization’s figshare repository. The presentations cover a range of topics, including research integrity markers, open research infrastructure, access and authentication, cross‑industry collaboration, and applications of artificial intelligence in scholarly communications.

A highlight of the program was the February 16 preconference day, which featured two half‑day sessions on AI in publishing. One session, Keeping the Robots in Line, examined approaches to managing AI access to content, while the other, Tracking Usage in the Age of AI, addressed challenges in measuring impact when usage is driven by automated agents and bots. Slide decks from both sessions are included in the repository. Presentations from JATS‑Con 2026 are also available, such as Mark Gross’s Deep XML Modeling at Scale: Consolidating 80 Years of Legacy Content into a Unified, Standards‑Driven Platform.

Slides from breakout sessions that received high ratings in post‑event surveys are part of the collection. These include Discovering the Future Discovery Pathways, Headless Scholarly Infrastructure, Measuring Usage and Making Value Out of AI Services, and Sustainable Approaches to AI Development. Lightning presentations on new products and innovations are also available, featuring contributions from Access Innovations, FigureTwo, Impelsys, LibLynx, Silverchair, and the OA Book Usage Data Trust.

The repository provides access to a wide selection of materials from the conference, offering insights into current challenges and developments in scholarly publishing. NISO has indicated that information about its upcoming virtual conference, scheduled for September, will be shared in due course.
