Northumbria University has announced the launch of its institutional data repository, powered by Figshare and available on a custom domain at figshare.northumbria.ac.uk.
The service will be available for all academic staff and postgraduate researchers at the university, giving them a citable DOI, a space for collaboration, and usage metrics for their research data. Using their university login credentials, researchers will be able to upload and share their research data with a reusable license. Researchers can upload data in any file format; over 1,200 file formats are viewable in the browser, increasing engagement and impact.
Researchers can also track usage statistics - views, downloads, citations and Altmetrics and datasets uploaded to Northumbria Figshare are marked for indexing in Google Dataset Search.
