STM publisher Elsevier, Netherlands, has announced that New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation (HHC) has selected ClinicalKey to provide electronic medical reference and knowledge-based information to HHC's clinicians across multiple facilities.
Launched in April 2012, ClinicalKey provides the most current and clinically relevant evidence-based answers, as well as expert commentary, MEDLINE abstracts and select third-party journals. ClinicalKey offers a user-friendly interface and a journal reference package that includes many of HHC's priority journals.
As the largest municipal healthcare organisation in the country, HHC serves 1.4 million New Yorkers every year. It provides medical, mental health and substance abuse services through its 11 acute care hospitals, four skilled nursing facilities, six large diagnostic and treatment centers and more than 70 community based clinics.
ClinicalKey's reference search engine is powered by Elsevier's Smart Content, tagged with EMMeT (Elsevier Merged Medical Taxonomy), which enables ClinicalKey to understand clinical terms and thus discover medical content that is the most relevant, plus find related content that would be missed by other search engines. ClinicalKey demonstrates the ability to quickly move from topic overview to in-depth specialty information in order to meet every day clinical challenges.
