In a move aimed at meeting the evolving needs of public library communities worldwide, OCLC has announced the acquisition of cloudLibrary, a leading platform providing access to a diverse range of digital content. This strategic acquisition underscores OCLC's commitment to supporting libraries in effectively managing the transition to digital collections amidst changing user preferences and technological advancements.

cloudLibrary, utilized by nearly 500 libraries across 20 countries, offers a comprehensive collection of digital resources, including millions of ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, digital newspapers, comics, and streaming media services. With content available in over 50 languages, cloudLibrary empowers libraries to cater to the diverse needs of their communities. Libraries leverage cloudLibrary's top-rated mobile app and user-friendly web portal to provide seamless access to digital collections while efficiently managing subscriptions.

The acquisition of cloudLibrary marks OCLC's acquisition of the assets of the Digital Solutions Group of Bibliotheca, based in St. Paul, Minnesota, responsible for the cloudLibrary platform. Staff members from the Digital Solutions Group have transitioned to OCLC, ensuring a seamless integration process.

The acquisition of cloudLibrary by OCLC is effective immediately, signaling a new chapter in OCLC's efforts to empower libraries with innovative digital solutions and enhance access to information for communities worldwide.
