OpenAIRE and the World Data System (WDS) are continuing their collaboration following the renewal of a Memorandum of Understanding.
The partnership is focused on strengthening research data infrastructures and improving how data repositories are represented, connected, and assessed within Open Science.
The two organizations will work toward shared objectives that include:
● Sharing good practices for data repositories
● Improving understanding of relationships between data repositories and other research infrastructures through metadata and knowledge graphs
● Working together on interoperability guidelines and vocabularies
● Promoting reciprocal certification and validation through workshops, webinars, and conferences
The collaboration will draw on the OpenAIRE Graph to demonstrate ways to represent research data repositories and link them to publications, software, funders, and organizations. Input from the World Data System community will inform how repositories are described and assessed within the Graph.
The partnership will be implemented through joint virtual events, conference participation, and collaborative work on monitoring tools and community gateways, including pilots using OpenAIRE CONNECT.
