O’Reilly announces AI Codecon virtual series on AI-assisted software development -

O’Reilly, a technology learning platform, has introduced AI Codecon, a new virtual conference series focused on the role of artificial intelligence in shaping software development. The first event in the series, Coding with AI: The End of Software Development as We Know It, will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 11:00am to 3:00pm ET. It is open to the public at no cost.

The virtual conference will be cohosted by O’Reilly Media founder Tim O’Reilly and Addy Osmani, who leads Chrome developer experience at Google. The program includes technical presentations, live demonstrations, and discussions with software developers and technology leaders examining current trends and applications in AI-enabled development.

Unlike O’Reilly’s Superstream series, which is limited to platform subscribers, AI Codecon will be accessible to both subscribers and non-subscribers, with future editions available for purchase. The series is intended to expand participation in conversations on the evolving dynamics of programming and software engineering in the context of generative and assistive AI tools.

The May 8 event marks the beginning of the series and is offered free of charge to encourage broad engagement from the technology community. Registration is also included at no additional cost for current O’Reilly members.
