Over one third of Springer’s open access journals now listed in 2015 Journal Citation Reports -

The Journal Citation Reports 2015® (JCR), recently released by Thomson Reuters, lists a total of 1,595 Springer journals, with 37 Springer journals joining the list for the first time.

Significantly, in 2014, 82 percent of the Springer journals in the list were cited more frequently than in the previous year. Well over one half (57 percent) of Springer journals increased their impact factor in 2014 over the 2013 figure.

The open access journals in Springer's portfolio, which includes BioMed Central, fared particularly well. Thirteen open access journals received their first impact factor, bringing the total of Springer open access journals in the JCR to 202. This is over one third (36 percent) of Springer's 566 open access journals. Springer is a leader in open access publishing, helping to enhance the scope, availability and quality of peer-reviewed research conducted worldwide.
