Academic publisher Oxford University Press (OUP), UK, has announced a new publishing partnership with the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS). Under the deal, OUP will publish the Association’s three journal titles from January 2012.
The journals are: European Journal of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EJCTS), Interactive CardioVascular and Thoracic Surgery (ICVTS), and Multimedia Manual of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (MMCTS). Bringing the titles together under a single publisher, OUP aims to create a comprehensive journal programme with the aim of advancing education in the field of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery.
EJCTS publishes original scientific reports documenting clinical and experimental advances in cardio-thoracic surgery. OUP will start publishing papers online for this journal in autumn 2011 with the first issues being published in January 2012. EJCTS is also the official journal of the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
ICVTS provides a dynamic platform for the publication of research reports, encouraging academic interaction with extensive commenting facilities. It is also the official journal of the European Society for Cardiovascular and Endovascular Surgery and the European Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion. MMCTS is the premier online manual of cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures, with a unique offering of surgical procedures with extensive video material. Both of these titles are freely available online to all users.
