Oxford University Press and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology sign Read & Publish deal -

Academic publisher Oxford University Press (OUP) has reached a Read & Publish agreement with the King Abdullah University of Science & Technology (KAUST) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This agreement will enable scholars at KAUST to access over 350 OUP journals, covering a wide range of research disciplines. KAUST researchers will also be able to publish their research output open access in journals published by OUP. The deal will last for an initial 12 month period, at which point there will be an option to extend it.

According to J. K. Vijayakumar, Library Director at KAUST, the KAUST University Library has taken a proactive role of negotiating with publishers on innovative ways to support the KAUST open access policy, supplement the KAUST research repository, and increase the impact of KAUST research publications with widespread availability throughout the world.
