Oxford University Press and the Royal Statistical Society announce publishing partnership -

Oxford University Press (OUP) has announced a new agreement with the Royal Statistical Society (RSS) to publish its journals. Effective January 2023, OUP will publish the RSS Journals (Series A, Series B, and Series C) and Significance magazine. RSS Journals will join OUP’s portfolio of nearly 500 journals, two-thirds of which are in partnership with learned and professional societies.

The agreement will see OUP drive growth and support the sustainability of RSS Journals while maintaining the high quality and reputation of its publications during a period of change in academic publishing.

The RSS Journals publish high-impact research covering statistics in society, methodological development, and applied statistics. Significance is a bimonthly magazine, which reports on statistics and the analysis and interpretation of data, to a global audience, with a focus on demonstrating the practical use and benefits of statistics across society.

Speaking on the new agreement, Jennifer Paxton-Boyd, Publishing Director, OUP, said that OUP will work together with the Society to develop a strategic framework to build on the impact, sustainability, and innovation of the RSS portfolio, particularly as they navigate the changing publishing landscape and the move towards Open Access.
