Pearson launches AI literacy modules for higher education -

Pearson has introduced a series of AI Literacy Modules designed to help educators teach responsible and effective use of artificial intelligence. The modules, available this fall, address faculty concerns over AI misuse while equipping students with workforce-ready skills.

Three AI Literacy Modules will be integrated into more than 170 MyLab and Mastering courses across disciplines including STEM, business, health, and the humanities. Each module covers validating AI-generated results, citing AI outputs, and applying AI responsibly in academic and professional settings. The resources will be available in the United States and in selected global titles.

Students who complete the modules will earn digital credentials through Credly by Pearson, with a capstone badge awarded for completion of all three modules. These credentials are intended to demonstrate proficiency in AI literacy and responsible technology use.

The new offering builds on Pearson’s broader AI ecosystem, which includes its Generative AI Foundations Certification and other credentials. Backed by subject matter expertise and learning science, the company emphasizes that its AI tools support active learning, academic integrity, and future workforce readiness. With more than 80% of its products now digital or digitally enabled, Pearson continues to expand its focus on AI-enabled education.
