Online submission system provider Aries Systems Corporation, US, has announced that Public Library of Science (PLoS) has gone live with Editorial Manager for its PLoS ONE publication, with additional PLoS publications to follow in the coming months. The system launch in July, 2010 was the result of close collaboration between the Aries and PLoS teams.
The Editorial Manager online submission system is used by several scholarly journals and processes tens of thousand of manuscripts per month. Commenting on the project, Nikolais Linsteadt, Publishing Systems Analyst at PLoS, said that Editorial Manager offers additional standardisation across journals and better control over settings and roles.
PLoS ONE receives a large number of submissions covering a broad range of subjects. Editorial Manager seeks to help administer matching manuscripts to appropriate external editors.
