Polymer Library now available on EBSCOhost -

Electronic research databases provider EBSCO Publishing (EBSCO), a division of EBSCO Industries, Inc., US, has announced the availability of the Polymer Library on the EBSCOhost platform. The Polymer Library claims to be the world's largest database on rubber, plastics, polymeric composites and adhesives. The database is designed for both academic and corporate researchers and includes information on the science, technology and business of polymers.

The Polymer Library includes content from around 500 publishers and contains nearly a million records dating from 1972 to the present. The information originates from a wide range of sources including technical and application-focused journals, conference proceedings, books and reports. Coverage is comprehensive, including well-known major journals and smaller niche content. In addition to technical content, the Library provides key news, market and research information.

The Polymer Library is supported by a team of experienced abstractors who are specialists in their fields. Abstractors ensure records are comprehensively indexed with multiple keywords to aid searchers. The keywords indicate both the subject matter and the nature of the article with records averaging 40 terms each. The Polymer Library database is updated with the latest information every two weeks.

By making the Polymer Library available on EBSCOhost, libraries subscribing to both the Polymer Library and Academic Search Complete (ASC) will be able to provide access to the full-text in ASC, the leading platform for STM databases. Academic Search Complete provides full-text for about 25 percent of the journals indexed in the Polymer Library.
