Princeton University Press and De Gruyter sign distribution partnership -

Princeton University Press has granted academic publisher De Gruyter non-exclusive global distribution rights to its eBooks. PUP is one of the world's respected university presses, publishing in all areas of the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences.

Princeton University Press Director Peter J. Dougherty believes that the partnership will increase the global dissemination of work from the top scholars and scientists published by the Press.

The partnership will launch with the addition of nearly 1400 current and backlist Princeton University Press eBooks to the De Gruyter Online catalogue. PUP will also offer some 1200 titles from The Princeton Legacy Library. The first phase of this initiative begins in summer 2014, bringing back into print previously out of print titles designed to vastly increase access to the rich scholarly heritage found in the thousands of books published by Princeton University Press since its founding in 1905.

The independent academic publisher De Gruyter can look back at an over 260 year history. Headquartered in Berlin, De Gruyter publishes over 1,300 new titles each year in the humanities, medicine, natural sciences, and law, more than 650 journals, and a broad range of digital media. The Group owns the imprints De Gruyter Akademie Forschung, Birkhäuser, De Gruyter Mouton, De Gruyter Oldenbourg, De Gruyter Open, and De Gruyter Saur.
