The ProQuest Academic Complete ebook subscription database has expanded access to premier ebooks from Wiley. Under a new five-year agreement, Wiley will make an additional 4,000 ebooks available via Academic Complete and its 10 single-subject subscriptions. Wiley and ProQuest have long partnered to offer researchers unlimited, multi-user access to important multidisciplinary content. By 2022, Academic Complete will carry more than 14,000 Wiley titles.
The 4,000 new titles are in high-demand, cross-disciplinary areas. They will be added to the Academic Complete database of more than 145,000 titles, which are selected to align with curriculum and graduation rate trending, ensuring high usage.
Over its 15-year history, the Academic Complete database has built a reputation as an essential foundation for any library acquisition program. It enables libraries to build their collections strategically, employing session and usage data. Librarians can apply a variety of flexible purchase models, ensuring the best ebook ROI. For example, libraries that see high use in certain subject areas or departments can expand their ebook acquisition program with Demand-driven Acquisition and Access-to-Own (the only DDA-based model to include Wiley frontlist), applying profiles to match known user demand.
Academic Complete - and any content acquired on the new Ebook Central platform - also includes Patron Analytics, which allows libraries to better understand user behavior through the use of customised, anonymised surveys. Patron Analytics takes the guesswork out of who is using the library and for what purpose, enabling libraries to balance both budget and patron demand. Further, Academic Complete customers can leverage a new and improved Book Display Widget to visually promote ebooks of their choice - from any vendor - on their web pages, catalog, Facebook pages, blogs and other digital display areas, driving discovery and usage. Academic Complete pioneered the concept of ebook subscriptions in 2002, introducing an affordable and efficient way for libraries to enrich their digital collections. It is available via ProQuest's innovative Ebook Central platform. A finalist for the 2016 SIIA CODiE Awards for Best Scholarly Research Information Solution, Ebook Central simplifies workflows and removes complexities surrounding ebooks for both librarians and researchers.
