Healthcare publisher Quadrant HealthCom Inc., US, has reportedly acquired Dowden Professional Publications from Lebhar-Friedman. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Under the deal, Quadrant will acquire Dowden’s four medical journals – The Journal of Family Practice, OBG Management, Mayo Clinic Proceedings and Current Psychiatry. Quadrant will also acquire Dowden’s events division.
Lebhar-Friedman acquired the Dowden properties in 2005. According to Roger Friedman, president of Lebhar-Friedman, the sale of these properties will enable the company to concentrate on media strategies. About 30 Dowden Professional Publications staffers will relocate from Montvale, N.J., to Quadrant's headquarters in Parsippany.
