ResearchGate, the professional network connecting researchers, and AIP Publishing (AIPP), the publishing branch of the American Institute of Physics, have announced an expansion of their partnership to include all AIP Publishing’s proprietary journals and open access (OA) agreements. The collaboration seeks to boost the visibility, accessibility, and engagement of AIP Publishing’s journals through ResearchGate’s Journal Home, a tool designed to amplify a publisher's content presence.
Under this extended agreement, AIP Publishing’s journals—including open access and hybrid titles—will now be syndicated on ResearchGate’s platform, reaching over 25 million researchers worldwide. This expansion comes after a successful pilot focused on AIPP’s OA titles, and it brings enhanced features to support author engagement, increase brand presence, and improve content reach across ResearchGate's vast network.
Key features of the partnership include:
• Content Syndication: All AIP Publishing journals will enjoy seamless syndication on ResearchGate, making subscription articles accessible to eligible readers globally.
• Journal Profiles: Each journal will have a dedicated profile, showcasing essential information and curated content to enhance visibility and engagement among researchers.
• Author Support: Articles will be automatically shared to author profile pages, offering insights into readership and engagement for each publication.
• Impact Metrics: Enhanced analytics will enable AIPP to assess and understand journal impact within research communities.
In a notable addition, AIP Publishing is now among the first to integrate Journal Home’s Open Access Agreement Upgrade (OAAU). This feature aims to drive uptake of AIPP’s OA agreements, facilitating:
• Funding Eligibility Awareness: Researchers eligible for OA funding support will be informed through contextual, targeted messaging specific to AIP Publishing journals.
• Custom Analytics: Unique reporting tools will help AIP Publishing measure the effectiveness of OA-related communications, from readership to authorship stages.
Through this expanded collaboration, AIP Publishing strengthens its commitment to supporting the research community, offering increased access to its resources and facilitating OA publishing pathways for researchers around the globe.
