Science and Research Content

Rockefeller University Press collaborates with Cadmore Media to embed video in research articles -

Cadmore Media has partnered with Rockefeller University Press (RUP) to integrate video directly into research articles. The collaboration is intended to ensure that video content is embedded within the scientific record, making it more accessible and easier to understand.

RUP publishes a substantial collection of scientific video materials, including supplementary content and author video summaries across its biomedical journals. These resources are particularly important in fields where visualization supports comprehension of experimental results.

Through Cadmore Media’s Media Embed, video is delivered within journal articles hosted on platforms such as Silverchair and HighWire Press. This approach avoids redirecting users to external pages and creates a more seamless reading and research experience.

A central focus of the partnership is improving accessibility in line with the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title II. Embedding video within articles supports compliance and usability, ensuring consistent access for all users, including those relying on assistive technologies. The integration also aims to simplify editorial workflows while maintaining accessibility standards.

The collaboration also supports consistency in how video is presented across formats, from supplementary materials to video abstracts. As video volumes increase, streamlined delivery and accessibility have become key priorities. Cadmore Media will continue working with RUP to refine video integration with attention to accessibility, discoverability, and long‑term preservation.
