General Practitioners in the United Kingdom now have an additional source for learning credits as the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) has accredited the clinical reference tool DynaMed™ from EBSCO Health.
RCGP, the professional body of 50,000 GPs that works to raise standards of patient care, has always been committed to Continuing Professional Development and lifelong learning. In addition to offering its own CPD resources the College also awards the Accreditation quality mark to educational activities that meet the world-renowned high standards of the RCGP.
DynaMed, a clinical reference tool created by physicians for physicians and other healthcare professionals, is designed to rapidly aid clinical decision making and provides unbiased evidence-based information on more than 3,200 diagnosis, disease and treatment topics. DynaMed is one of the major point-of-care resources which have been accredited for learning credits.
Several studies have shown that DynaMed provides the most useful information to healthcare professionals at the point of care. DynaMed ranked highest among 10 online clinical resources in a study in the Journal of Clinical Epidemiology and twice was rated highest in its category by healthcare providers in a report on clinical decision support resources by KLAS, a research firm that specializes in monitoring and reporting the performance of healthcare vendors. DynaMed was also shown to be the most current point-of-care reference tool in a study published in the British Medical Journal (BMJ).
