The Royal College of Surgeons (RCS) has appointed global healthcare knowledge provider, BMJ, as its international sales partner for institutional customers. The arrangement takes advantage of BMJ's extensive global customer base and its proven track record in providing access to professional content in the institutional sector worldwide.
The deal covers all three RCS titles, including the official journal of the College, Annals of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. The journal is one of the most widely read journals across the surgical specialties in the UK.
Under the new arrangement BMJ will take responsibility for all institutional sales of RCS titles around the world. This appointment strengthens the College's global reach and customer support network.
It follows in the wake of a similar arrangement established in 2013 with RCNi, part of the Royal College of Nursing Group.
In addition to the Annals of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, BMJ will now sell The Bulletin and the Faculty of Dental Surgery Journal (FDJ), which won the 2013 Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers Award for Best New Journal, to institutions outside of the UK.
