Royal Society of Chemistry selects ScholarOne Manuscripts -

Information services provider Thomson Reuters, US, has announced that the Royal Society of Chemistry has chosen ScholarOne Manuscripts to manage submission and peer review for 26 of its journals. The Royal Society of Chemistry claims to be one of the largest publishers of chemical science information in the world.

The move follows the RSC’s use of ScholarOne Manuscripts for five journals in the past several months, and the successful completion of a pilot project that resulted in positive author, reviewer, and editorial staff feedback.

ScholarOne Manuscripts is a web-based, database-driven peer review and online submission programme for scholarly publishers. It works by automating the manuscript submission to journals and allows for easy administrative, editing and reviewing capabilities. ScholarOne serves more than 365 societies and publishers, over 3,000 books and journals, and 13 million registered users.

Earlier in May 2009, Thomson Reuters announced enhanced reporting functionality to ScholarOne Manuscripts. The upgrade included the implementation of Cognos, a leading business intelligence and performance management tool.
