Sage has partnered with Ashoka University to support emerging scholars in the social sciences, reinforcing a shared commitment to inclusive, accessible, and interdisciplinary research. The initiative is intended to enable advanced interdisciplinary work while reducing structural and financial barriers that can limit access to academic opportunities.
The initiative reflects the view that sustainable knowledge systems depend on broad participation and on creating conditions that allow emerging scholars to shape research agendas over time. Ashoka University will administer the support through its Department of Sociology and Anthropology and oversee the selection process to identify Ph.D. candidates with strong academic potential. The initiative aims to deepen understanding of complex social realities, inform public dialogue, and translate ideas into meaningful societal impact, enabling scholars to explore complex questions and contribute to knowledge creation in Sociology, Anthropology, and allied fields.
