Sage and Cassyni collaborate to elevate open-access research through seminars -

Academic publisher Sage has announced a strategic partnership with Cassyni, the research seminar platform, aimed at showcasing open-access research through engaging live seminars. This collaboration will enable editors, authors, reviewers, and readers to come together in dynamic seminar events hosted on the Cassyni platform.

The initiative will introduce a new feature for Sage's open-access journals, allowing guest editors to introduce special collection topics through live community seminars. Authors of accepted papers will be invited to present video seminars about their articles. These seminar recordings will be embedded alongside the publication on the Sage Journals platform, enriched with Cassyni's semantic video AI technology.

Each seminar recording will be assigned a separate DOI and made discoverable through Cassyni's integrations into the wider scholarly ecosystem, including popular research tools like EndNote and Digital Science's Dimensions, as well as within Cassyni's online seminar library.

Key functionalities of Cassyni include an accessible smart player embedded on the Sage Journals platform alongside the article, Crossref DOIs for each seminar linked to the relevant article, automatic slide outlines for easy content navigation, hyperlinked references to scholarly literature within the video, and the ability to subscribe to updates on relevant seminars.

The new feature will be available in eight special collection titles, including Advances in Mechanical Engineering, Cancer Control, INQUIRY, Technology in Cancer Research & Treatment, Therapeutic Advances in Gastroenterology, Therapeutic Advances in Infectious Disease, Therapeutic Advances in Medical Oncology, and Women's Health.
