Academic publisher SAGE has announced that it will continue its partnership with the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS). Beginning in 2012, SAGE will publish the latter's Journal of Laboratory Automation (JALA). With the addition of this title, SAGE now publishes both SLAS journals: Journal of Biomolecular Screening (JBS) and JALA, which was previously published by Elsevier.
Journal of Laboratory Automation (formerly known as the Journal of the Association for Laboratory Automation) is a collection of articles on the advancement of laboratory technology. Contributions are multidisciplinary and are geared to a varied audience of commercial, government and academic researchers searching for the latest innovations and applications of laboratory technologies to help make them more efficient. JALA will receive its first Impact Factor in the 2011 edition of the Thomson Reuters Journal Citation Reports, due out in June of 2012, and is also in MEDLINE.
Joining the SAGE journal family means that the journal will be available through SAGE Journals Online, SAGE's online journal delivery platform, in February 2012.
