Academic publisher SAGE has been chosen by the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) to publish its journal, Foot & Ankle International, beginning in January 2013.
Foot & Ankle International (FAI) began publication in 1980 and emphasises surgical and medical management as well as basic clinical research related to foot and ankle problems. FAI offers peer-reviewed articles focusing on areas of interest such as surgical reconstruction, ankle replacement, lower limb trauma, sports injuries, ankle arthritis, wound-care, bone healing, pain management, orthotics, and diabetes.
FAI will continue to support the AOFAS mission under the direction of the journal’s Editor-in-Chief, Dr. David B. Thordarson. Dr. Thordarson is Professor and Vice Chair, Residency Director, in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
FAI is just one outlet that helps the AOFAS create public awareness for the prevention and treatment of foot and ankle disorders, provide leadership, and serve as a resource for government, industry and the national and international health care community. Joining the SAGE journal family means that the journal will be available through the SAGE Journals platform and authors will be able to submit articles for review through SAGE Track.
