Academic publisher SAGE has announced that it has signed an agreement to publish the Journal of Dental Research (JDR), beginning 2009. JDR is the official publication of the International and American Associations for Dental Research (IADR/AADR). The first SAGE issue of the journal will be Volume 88, issue January 1, 2009.
The Journal of Dental Research provides the latest information on all sciences relevant to dentistry and to the oral cavity and associated structures in health and disease. The journal publishes original research in all fields of dental, oral and craniofacial sciences, as well as timely and oft-cited review articles in the Critical Reviews in Oral Biology & Medicine (CROBM) section.
The journal recently received a Scientific Impact Factor of 3.496 and remains the number one monthly journal publishing original research in the 'Dentistry, Oral Surgery & Medicine' category of all dental journals worldwide. This partnership adds to the growing number of more than 245 societies and associations that see SAGE as their natural home.
JDR is currently hosted online via HighWire Press and will be added to SAGE Journals Online (SJO). HighWire is SAGE's technology partner for SJO. For the first time, libraries will have access to COUNTER compliant usage statistics for JDR. The journal's site will now also include advanced Boolean search, articles published ahead of print with OnlineFirst, and Web 2.0 features such as links to social bookmarking sites and RSS feeds.
