Academic publisher SAGE will begin publishing Journal of Diabetes Science and Technology (DST), the official journal of Diabetes Technology Society, starting January 2014.
DST is the bi-monthly, peer-reviewed, online-only journal of the Diabetes Technology Society, which is dedicated to the development and use of technology and new products to help people with diabetes. The journal covers basic research and clinical applications of bioengineered technologies that are currently being developed to help diabetes patients. The journal focuses on glucose monitoring, insulin delivery, diagnostic tests, physiological monitoring, software, hardware, and closed loop control. Additionally, DST provides members of the diabetes technology community with the latest news about professional meetings, business developments, and government policies.
Established in 2001, the organisation Diabetes Technology Society is a non-profit organisation that is run by experts in academia, clinical practice, industry, and the government as a collaborative effort to contribute to the advancement of technology for treating, monitoring, diagnosing, and preventing diabetes and its complications. In pursuit of its goals, DTS works closely with many government agencies such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, U.S. Department of Defense, National Institutes of Health, Centers for Disease Control, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and National Science Foundation.
