ScienceOpen and Scite.ai have announced a new collaboration aimed at providing the academic community with enriched context surrounding citation information. The cornerstone of ScienceOpen's discovery environment, its citation index, has been bolstered with Scite badges, offering insights into whether citations support, contrast, or merely mention the referenced content.
Founded in 2013, ScienceOpen serves as a freely accessible research and publishing network, offering search and discovery capabilities across a vast repository of over 88 million records, including articles, books, chapters, and conference proceedings. The platform has been dedicated to creating and exposing the context of academic research, encompassing citation networks, open peer review, alternative metrics, and more since its inception.
Scite, an award-winning platform, empowers researchers to delve into citation data, facilitating the evaluation of scientific articles. Developed through the analysis of over 35 million full-text scientific articles, Scite boasts a database of more than 1.3 billion classified citation statements.
As part of this collaboration to enhance content discoverability on the ScienceOpen platform, an indexing agreement has been forged with scite.ai. This agreement will enable ScienceOpen to share full-text content with Scite.ai, extending the digital reach of publishing programs for ScienceOpen customers.
ScienceOpen invites publishers to open up their publications to a global research community, leveraging the platform's search engine and capabilities to increase the accessibility of their content to a worldwide audience.
