The Microbiology Society has launched a second journal portal on ScienceOpen. The recent release highlights the Society’s new Gold Open Access journal, Access Microbiology, which redefines the idea of ‘high impact’ research by emphasising great value of methodologically sound and rigorous research for the broader scientific community.
Access Microbiology introduces a new service to the microbiology community allowing the publication of replication studies, negative or null results, research proposals, data management plans, additions to established methods, and interdisciplinary work. The scope of the journal is intended to prevent research waste, where studies are re-done in multiple labs for no gain.
In order to increase the journal‘s discoverability and accessibility for the global audience, it will be indexed as a featured collection on ScienceOpen, a research discovery platform of over 60 million books and articles placed in a dynamic discovery database. Integrating content in the ScienceOpen platform adds an additional layer for user interactions.
