Scientific Annals of the Danube Delta Institute joins Pensoft publishing portfolio -

The open-access, peer-reviewed journal Scientific Annals of the Danube Delta Institute (SADDI) has joined the portfolio of scholarly publisher and technology provider Pensoft. The journal serves as the official publication of the Danube Delta National Institute for Research and Development in Tulcea, Romania.

Founded in 1993, SADDI provides a multidisciplinary platform for research on the Danube Delta and similar wetland ecosystems. The journal publishes studies across a range of disciplines including ecology, biodiversity, environmental protection, hydrology, ichthyology, ornithology, limnology, and sustainable development focused on wetlands and deltaic systems. It is led by Editor-in-Chief Iuliana-Mihaela Tudor of the Danube Delta National Institute.

As a diamond open-access journal, SADDI does not charge fees for reading or publishing. Its integration with Pensoft’s publishing infrastructure provides access to the ARPHA platform, which supports streamlined editorial workflows and enhanced discoverability of published research. The platform is designed to facilitate accessibility, citation, and reuse of scientific outputs by both human readers and digital systems.

SADDI’s transition will be presented during the 32nd International Symposium “Deltas and Wetlands,” taking place in Tulcea from 12–17 May. The event will feature a presentation by Pensoft’s CEO on the integration of the journal into the ARPHA platform and the potential role of scholarly publishing in supporting conservation initiatives in the Danube region.
