Online publishing services provider Semantico Ltd, UK, has announced that it has been chosen by Grup Enciclopèdia Catalana, a leading publisher in Catalan, as the digital development partner in a major project to publish their extensive range of encyclopaedic, academic and literary works online.
The Grup Enciclopèdia Catalana (EC) was established in Barcelona in 1965 to grow and promote Catalan culture and language. Since its inception, the group has collated an extensive body of work including encyclopaedias, dictionaries, school text books, fiction and non-fiction works. The new suite of websites will be a platform for these resources and will help to grow the cultural heritage of Catalonia.
Semantico’s digital publishing solution for Grup Enciclopèdia Catalana will use its own industry-respected products - SAMS (Semantico Access Management System) and SIPP (Semantico Information Publishing Platform). The new sites will form the heart of the Grup Enciclopèdia Catalana brand online.
The project is in the initial planning phases with completion and launch planned for spring 2012.
