The Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), one of Singapore's six national universities, has chosen Derwent Innovation by Clarivate Analytics to be the main intellectual property (IP) analysis and collaboration solution for its Master of IP and Innovation Management (MIPIM) Programme.
The MIPIM Programme will last four semesters (24 months) and is the first and only graduate programme in IP and innovation management offered in Singapore. The MIPIM Programme is an initiative under the national IP Hub Master Plan which was updated in 2017 by the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) and the Ministry of Law of Singapore. The Master Plan is aimed at building up Singapore's competencies in managing and exploiting IP to drive business and economic growth.

Developed in collaboration with IPOS and the IP Academy, the MIPIM Programme targets professionals who are interested in entering the IP industry or upgrading their skills, to add value to their job roles and organisations; IP professionals seeking to deepen their knowledge and skills set; and professionals aspiring to be patent attorneys/agents. The MIPIM curriculum builds on a common core foundation on IP law and IP management. It is followed by training in specialised domain knowledge and skills through completing courses in one of the three specialisation tracks - IP Management, IP Technology and Patent Agency.
The current pioneer batch of working professionals in consultancy, R&D and IP from law firms and companies will use Derwent Innovation for their coursework on IP intelligence. They will be trained on Derwent Innovation usage by Clarivate Analytics industry experts and have access to their expertise as well as the Derwent Innovation customer support team.
